Since 1991, RSVP, Inc. has demonstrated a proven record of success in providing a wide variety of quality professional services to disabled and non-disabled veterans, specifically in the following areas:
VOCATIONAL/EDUCATIONAL COUNSELING WITH NON-DISABLED VETERANS SEPARATING FROM THE MILITARY
RSVP, Inc. assists veterans who are separating from the military in identifying interests, aptitudes, and transferable skills to be utilized in seeking employment in the civilian sector or pursuing appropriate training with G.I. Bill benefits which a veteran may have at his/her disposal. Each veteran is provided with an interpretation of the test results and is shown how to utilize those results and library resources to research occupations and options to enable them to make informed decisions with regard to career direction. In cases in which the veteran has no G.I. Bill benefits, various alternative financial assistance options are discussed. The veteran may be provided with viable job leads for his/her follow-up.
EVALUATION & COUNSELING WITH DISABLED VETERANS SEEKING VOCATIONAL REHABILITATION SERVICES
RSVP, Inc. provides the veteran with his/her test results and an interpretation of these results. Vocational recommendations are made, considering the impact of the disability upon the veteran’s transferable skills. Retraining or employment services may be required to enable the veteran to obtain physically appropriate employment based upon the specific physical limitations and restrictions as outlined by his/her physician. The veteran may be advised and shown how to use the test results and Department of Labor resources to explore career options, contact training facilities to obtain course offerings, and gather the necessary information to allow the veterans VR&E Counselor to develop the IWRP or IEAP. The veteran may be referred to a variety of resources to assist him/her in the job search process, and may be provided with actual job leads for positions which would utilize his/her military training, experience, and transferable skills in the event training is not deemed to be required. The veteran may be shown how to obtain salary and local labor market information to assist him/her in making an appropriate and informed career choice should training be required.
DEVELOPMENT OF AN INDIVIDUALIZED WRITTEN REHABILITATION PLAN OR INDIVIDUALIZED EMPLOYMENT ASSISTANCE PLAN
RSVP, Inc. develops an Individualized Written Rehabilitation Plan or Individualized Employment Assistance Plan which identifies and delineates the responsibilities of the veteran and the service provider, as well as specific goals and the methods and procedures to be employed in assisting the veteran to achieve these goals. The veteran and RSVP, Inc. Counselor explore appropriate training facilities and their respective course offerings, via the internet or catalogs, to obtain the information necessary to complete the plan.
SUPPORTED EMPLOYMENT
RSVP, Inc. provides Situational Assessment, Job Development, Job Site Training, and Follow-Along services employing the Supported Employment Model for those veterans with more serious disability conditions and for whom intensive one-on-one assistance is necessary for a successful return to the workforce.
